Spring celebration beer party in Munich (Frühlingsfest)

Until May 15, you can enjoy a beer in one of the two enormous tents of the “Frühlingsfest” on the Theresienwiese in Munich. The party area can easily be reached by metro (S-Bahn Hackerbrucke or U-Bahn Theresienwiese). The Augustiner brewer is on the fair grounds and the Hippodrom with “Lady Bavaria” just in front of the entrance. We selected the Hippodrom and enjoyed or mass (1 litre) of Spaten beer with some Tapas and Brezel. It was calm in the tent, we arrived early in the evening and it was a rainy day. I assume many people stayed at home for the “Champions League” Semi finals. The live band was playing a large variety of songs and waiters were wearing a “Lederhosen” or the women a “Dirndl”. This is in fact a small version of the Oktoberfest. Surrounding the beer tents, you have a carnival fair. There is some wild stuff but most things are for children or typical Bavarian food stands.
