The oldest church in the world, the church of The Holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem

This is really the oldest church in the world, it originates from the year 326, and it is almost 1.700 years old. The church is built on the hill of Golgotha where Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected. Stations 10 to 14 of the Via Dolorosa are located in the church. We will come back on that later. There are many Christian streams and in the church you find a Greek Orthodox, Armenian and Roman Catholic part. All these different styles in one church is very unique. For us this church has touched us the most because of the historical events and different styles. This is not just a statement. because we have already visited more than a hundred churches.

Hierop komen we later terug.

  7. @Places of Sunshine,

You made me curious, I had to look at the 4th photo. My fave is instead the photo before the last... is that a pedestal or something? That must beall real gold, isn't that, Filip?
