Court of Appeal in the legal capital of Alsace, Colmar

We were expecting a small court building here in Colmar, where all houses are cozy, but the Court of Appeal is enormous. This almost 100 year old master piece of Baroque architecture looks great and has an appropriate size garden. The façade of this building is an attraction for photographers. We were already wondering how the interior would look like and tried to get inside. The guard checked all other bags and we requested permission to take a few pictures in the main hall where the tapestry above the staircase was an eye catcher.

  2. Love this staircase, but I think I would be afraid to appeal if I had to go in a building with those snarling gargoyles looking down at me...very scary and judgmental, I would not think i would be treated kindly!!
