Gardens and stories of Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna

It was not allowed to take pictures of the interior at Schönbrunn Palace so we cannot share any impressions of the more than 1.000 rooms. The museum shows a wide variety of styles and is really worth a visit. Ensure you are on time because it takes you at least two hours before you can enter the palace. You have to queue for tickets and you receive an assigned hour for your visit. With its almost three million visitors a year, it is always crowded.

While you wait for your entry time slot, you should visit the gardens and hill. This is for free, so on a sunny day it must be great to walk in this park. In the gardens you find many statues, the Neptunus fountain and highest pavilion, called Gloriette, overlooking the city of Vienna. We imagine Sissi having coffee here in the afternoon sun.

  1. Over a thousand rooms! It must take an army to clean them! What is that skinny building with the walkway and beautiful ceilings? It is beautiful, and I like your reflection shot of it.

Prachtig.

  3. You have captured it from many angles, well done. I think it is mean not allowing photos. I didn't have to wait to go through because we were with an organised tour.
